There's nothing like making music with the people you love & respect & thats exactly what Lexie, Kahlil, & Mrcl did when they founded Agent Lexie in a basement studio in Stuttgart-Vaihingen . After having worked in the music business for several years as artists, producers, & writers, the trio decided to put their heads together & create something that represents all their cultural & musical influences.
They wanted to hear all the music they love in one seamless blend on one album. Battle Like A Champion, the debut album from Agent Lexie, is a mix of Jamaican Dancehall, European Electronica, & American Hip Hop. Lexie's inimitable voice is inextricably intertwined with haunting melodies, bass, & beats. Her voice is soft & angelic at sometimes & at other times commanding & gritty. Sonically, she manages to take the listener to places they've never been with her before while still echoing all the things we love about her & reminds us of her previous works as Lexie Lee on tracks like Warlords Daughter.
Battle Like a Champion is a buffet of images & stories set to sound. It doesn't leave any stone unturned & no topic is off limits. The album covers everything from girls night out to sex tourism, skin bleaching, & poverty. The beats & the lyrics lay the template for Lexie to do what she does best on a track, "Keep it Duttyah."
